Earthquake tremors were felt in Barkhan district of Balochistan on Wednesday, causing panic among local residents, though no immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the earthquake measured 4.7 on the Richter scale and struck at a depth of 30 kilometers beneath the earth’s surface. The epicenter was located 26 kilometers north of Barkhan, a remote and mountainous region of the province.
Residents in the affected areas reported feeling the ground shake for a few seconds, prompting many to rush out of their homes in fear. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and emergency teams have been placed on alert.
